Brussels sprouts suffer from a truly undeserved poor reputation...
There are so many variations on how you can prepare brussel sprouts to be the perfect, crunchy vegetable as a side item for any meat.
My oven was in use tonight so I decided to throw them in the my air-fryer to prepare them before drizzling the balsamic dressing.
If you don't own an air-fryer today, I've included a link to one here. They are worth the money just to make bacon alone, but help you prepare healthy alternatives to deep fried foods.
All you have to do is toss in your meat or vegetable, drizzle or spray with olive oil and you have a tasty alternative to drenching foods in oil and frying.
Recipe
1 pound of brussel sprout - I cut the Steam and then dice into quarters or shred
3 tbsp olive oil or use olive oil spray to use less oil
1/4 tsp sea salt
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
1 tsp lime juice
1/2 tsp soy sauce
Instructions
Place brussel sprouts in your air-fryer after dicing them
Toss the brussels with 1 tbsp of olive oil, or spray until covered
Sprinkle with 1/4 tsp of salt
Put your air-fryer on 400 for about 10 minutes until they begin to get crispy
Add garlic and toss letting them cook for another 2 to 4 minutes
While your brussel sprouts are in the air-fryer, in a small sauce pan add 1/4 cup of balsamic vinegar and simmer on medium heat for several minutes until the vinegar begins to thicken a bit (about 3-minutes of simmering)
Pull the balsamic vinegar off of the heat and add 2 tbsp of olive oil, 1 tsp of lime juice, and a 1/2 tsp of soy sauce
Serve brussel sprouts from air-fryer and drizzle with the balsamic dressing
Enjoy!
